A Christmas Carol (2009)
The timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, the miserly man whose ominous fate seems to be the same as his long-time business partner, Jacob Marley. Scrooge is afforded a chance at redemption when he’s visited by three spirits – The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for in 2009’s animated “A Christmas Carol”.
· Ebenezer Scrooge is eating along in his room. He slams the pot he’s holding onto the table with the spoon sticking out. In the farther view, as he’s walking to the bedroom door, the spoon handle appears to be missing. It can be seen sticking out the pan when he hears Marley coming up the stairs and again when the weights are thrown in. It appears to be gone again when Ebenezer asks Marley to sit down and when he asks why he’s fitted with chains. The spoon appears to be back when Marley talks about no peace and remains there when he leaves.
· Marley appears and a close-up of Scrooge shows the ends of his robe’s belt are to the left of his left leg with the other end laying in the middle, between his legs. In the close-up of Scrooge, as he starts to speak, the two ends are intertwined and fall down the middle.
· Also, during this scene, in the close-up of Scrooge as he starts to speak, one of the ghostly chains runs between the two right legs of his chair with another around the far side of the table to his left. A few moments later, when Marley sits down, a front view of Scrooge as he mentions, “a disorder of the stomach”, shows the chain between the chair’s right legs has moved. There is now one running between Scrooge’s feet, under the front of the chair. The chain around the far side of the table isn’t there, but there is one now running between the chair and the table.
· Scrooge is on the curtain listening to Mrs. Dilber and Old Joe talking. He manages to crawl out from under a blanket that gets tossed on him and backs toward the edge of the curtain. His feet are almost touching the wooden floor the curtain is scattered on. In the overhead view, when they’re looking at the night shirt, his position has moved and he’s farther on the curtain and not as close to the edge.
