Savannah Daniels is a successful attorney; she’s single, having been cheated on by her ex-husband, and fairly untrusting of men. Her niece, (her sister’s and ex’s child) is everything to her, and she’ll do anything to protect her. When a reporter releases an expose of her ex-husband with shocking evidence that he was involved in the sex trafficking of young girls from Thailand, she jumps in to get to the bottom of it. Flight Risk, by bestselling author, Cara Putman, has all of the elements of a great thriller, since the reporter, Jett Glover has everything to back up his story even though it has ruined the lives of the men who are accused. A plane crashes, most likely due to one of Savannah’s clients, and she is working on that aspect, since her ex and one of his partners were on that plane. One of them died, and then her ex was murdered. Savannah and Jett pair up to get to the bottom of things, and put themselves in danger, as well as others around them.

Putman is a bestselling author because she can tell a viable story in a way that keeps readers glued to their seats. She adds a bit of romance to counteract the constantly building suspense, and includes characters that have flaws just like we do. She does an excellent job of developing her characters so that they seem like real people; most readers know someone like them and they are very believable. Readers will wonder if Jett is one of those characters who can be trusted because Savannah is one who has her guard up and is finally trusting him to help; it may be a mistake.

Putman has created a story that is fascinating and believable. It will compel readers to pick up her previous books to get more of her excellent writing and stories. Highly recommended for thriller aficionados.
